JAKARTA (Jurnalislam.com) – The rise of false news or hoax in Indonesia is now taken seriously by PP Muhammadiyah. Muhammadiyah compelled to make fiqh information to intercept the phenomenon.
“The trend of the future is digitalize world, with the increasing of the noise and pollution. Therefore PP Muhammadiyah will release the fiqh of information,” said General Secretary of PP Muhammadiyah, Abdul Mu’ti in Muhammadiyah monthly recitals at Muhammadiyah Da’wah Center Building, Menteng, Jakarta, Friday (02/03/2017).
Mu’ti said that hoax (false news) is not only growing in modern times, but has been around since the time of Prophet Muhammad SAW as specified in the Quran surah An-Nur.
“Hoax is enormous, and is not something that just happen recently, but it has been around since a long time ago,” he explained.
In line with the Chairman of Muhammadiyah, KH Dadang Kahmad said that Surah Nur and Al Hujurat of Quran could form the basis of jurisprudence (fiqh) of information.
“I strongly support that Muslim have to speak cautiously about everything. It is an indicator of good character and morals as well as an indicator of our faith,” he said.
He asserted, distributing or creating false news is a big sin and will get the torment from Allah SWT.
“A big lie or hoax will get the torment. Remember this is a big problem,” he said after explaining the meaning of the Quran surah An Nur verses 11-20.
