Article 59 Paragraph 3 Perppu 2/2017 Assessment of the Nature of a Dictatorial Regime

SEMARANG (Jurnalislam.com) – The Indonesian Muslim Student Action Union (KAMMI) came to the Central Java Parliament Office of Jalan Pahlawan, Semarang City, to reject the Perppu No. 2 of 2017 on Amendment of Law No. 17 of 2013 on Community Organizations, Wednesday (26 / 7/2017).

In his statement, the Chairman of KAMMI Semarang Sigit Tirto Utomo stated that his party firmly rejects the Perppu because it is no better than the Ordinance Act No. 17 of 2013.

“KAMMI firmly rejects Perppu No 2 of 2017 about organizations that are no better than existing mass organizations,” Sigit told reporters at the Central Java DPDR office on Wednesday (26/7/2017).

Sigit explained that article 59 paragraph 3 in the Perppu states that mass organizations that violate public order, disturbing the public, damaging the facility and the criticism of state officials can be disrupted until dissolved. The point is judged as one of the nature of dictatorial rule.

“So the dissolution is from the likes or dislikes of the president himself and added to rejecting the jurisdiction of the courts, because by eliminating the authority of the court has caused the nature of the authoritarian regime and dictatorship,” he said.

Furthermore, Sigit said, KAMMI invites the pros and cons of the Perppu to to scientifically mengiaog.

“We invite organizations of pros and cons with this issue to dialogue with us, our study is scientific, our study based on the Perppu is self-contained, we involve legal persons, not intimidation,” he concluded.
