JAKARTA (Jurnalislam.com) – The Fatwa Protector National Movement (GNPF-MUI) together with a number of figures and Muslims elements had visited the MUI Office, Jakarta, on Friday (01/03/2017). Their arrival was to support the chairman of MUI, KH Ma’ruf Amin who has been reviled by the defendant alleged blasphemy, Ahok.
On that occasion, GNPF released a statement in response to disrespectful treatment from BTP.
“GNPF MUI view that all forms of insistent question, arrogant pressure and the tendency to undermine the credibility of KH Ma’ruf Amin is an act of contempt against the cleric (ulama),” said GNPF to the reporters right after a press conference.
GNPF condemned that KH Ma’ruf Amin as a role model scholars of Indonesian Muslims do not deserve to be treated like that. According to him, Ahok and his legal advisers harsh treatments are over the limit.
“It is their gesture and act of carelessness that is out of line,” he explained.
Therefore, GNPF urged the law enforcement agencies to immediately hold Ahok and convicted to the maximum.
“We are demanding that the defendant has to be detained during the legal process and be punished to the maximum for his actions,” he concluded.
