In addition with the action, the masses will perform a longmarch from the Istiqlal Mosque to the Supreme Court Office after Friday prayers.
“This action is an initiative to force the judge to decide with the utmost and absolute fairness,” said Ahmad Buchory Muslim, Monday (01/05/2017).
Furthermore, Ahmad Buchory said the action is a follow-up of previous actions which demanded that the defendant of the blasphemy case, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) be brought to justice. Therefore, according to him, many people will take to the streets.
In addition, Ahmad Buchory Muslim, said he could not confirm whether the committee had sent a notice to the police or not related to the action. Because, according to him, this is the responsibility/duty of DPP Front Pembela Islam (FPI).
“This peaceful action is protected by the 1945 Constitution and Act No. 9 of 1998 of Law No. 12 of 2005. No authority may ban it, including the police. According to Article 18 of Law No. 9 of 1998, anyone who forbids and disallows it is sentenced to one year of imprisonment, “said Ahmad Buchory Muslim.
Meanwhile, according to GNPF Legal Counsel, Kapitra Ampera, whom also justifs the action. According to him, the action was held so that the judges are not blined by the demands of the Public Prosecutor (Prosecutor) which only requires Ahok one year probation.
He estimates the number of attending the action will be around five million people. “We are prepared for this amount,” said Kapitra Ampera.
