SURABAYA (Jurnalislam.com) – Secretary General of Islamic Forum (FUI) who also had time in prison for alleged treason which until now has not been proven, Ustadz Muhammad Al Khaththath came to Surabaya to give moral support to anti-communist activist Ustadz Alfian Tanjung who Entangled case.
He reminded President Joko Widodo not to play with fire by criminalizing Islamic clerics, activists and organizations.
“I am confronting in this case Mr. Jokowi as the President of the Republic of Indonesia is not playing in terms of criminalization of scholars who will have a bad impact and cause tension between the ummah of Islam with the government,” Ustadz Al Khaththath told Journalislam.com, Wednesday (16/08/2017) .
Al Khaththath strongly believes that the cleric Alfian Tanjung is not as alleged in the trial indictment. According to him, no criminal acts committed ustadz Alfian Tanjung.
“My arrival is to give moral support to Ustadz Alfian Tanjung, I believe he did not commit a crime,” said ustadz Al Khaththath
Not to forget, Al Khaththath asked the Muslims to pray for the condition of the nation getting better and the problems that befell the Muslim scholars and activists immediately resolved.
The case of Ustadz Alfian originated from the report of a Surabaya resident named Sudjatmiko dated 11 April 2017 in East Java Police who accused the content of lectures at Masjid Mujahidin Surabaya contained elements of hate speech against the PKI and Ahok. Ust. Alfian was accused of Article 16 Jo. Article 4 letter b number 2 of Law no. 40 of 2008 on the Elimination of Racial and Ethnic Discrimination and or Article 156 of the Criminal Code.
